It’s official: The Heart of Resistance is now available for preorder! You can preorder the paperback, hardcover, and clothbound edition through the Griffeys’ Book Emporium shop site. The Kindle ebook edition is available for preorder as well. Preorders for the physical editions will close on January 11th, so get yours in while you can! Our goal is 50 preorders, which seems doable over the next couple of months. Preorders can be shipped anywhere in the contiguous United States, or you can choose free pickup at Griffeys’ Book Emporium in Delaware, Ohio if you’re local!

In other exciting news, over the weekend we received our first proof copy of the book:

The cover looks even better in person: the colors are super rich and lovely, and the photo does not do it justice. Of course, as is the way of things, I immediately discovered about a dozen typos, formatting errors, and the like. Oh well, that’s what proof copies are for!

I didn’t realize how strange it would be to hold the book in physical form for the first time. I was struck by how it seemed both larger and smaller than I’d thought it would be. Moments and plot points that loom large in my mind take up a just few pages of text, but the book itself currently clocks in at a whopping 375 pages, the longest project I’ve ever worked on. We’re still missing a few things like the maps, dedications, acknowledgements, etc. so this copy doesn’t feel quite finished. But it’s real and I am so, so excited that other people will be holding copies of their own in just a few months.
